Right wing kooks using the word woke is actually pretty funny. The rest of us are just out here thinking that perhaps everyone should be able to live with a modest amount of dignity and these dudes think it’s some magic spell we’re chanting.

Fuggen’ “wokeism” kills me every time! What on earth does that mean to them??

They can’t even define it. Remember the author who wrote an entire damn book about wokism, and she couldn’t even define “woke” in a live interview for which she had ample time to prepare.

I’m starting to think their brains are wired differently. They don’t think, they just react to stimuli.

It’s not that these people can’t define “woke” it’s that they do not ever want to admit (either out loud or just to themselves) they are racists or complicit in being assholes to entire groups people. The word “woke” is the wallpaper that can never be peeled back for exposing the mirror behind it.

I just thought it was the evolution of the social justice warrior pejorative.

Look at this SJW, complaining about cops shooting civillians without trial.

They don’t know, they just want some “ism” of their own to throw at the people calling them out for being the racist, sexist, and homophobic fascists that they are.

Like his wealth, which he did not meaningfully earn, but still gets to use, benefit from, and control.

IMHO, that dork hates wokeness because it’s a movement of human to human empathy, and you can’t have a compassionate society and billionaires at the same time.

I really dislike Musk and cannot help but cringe at most of what he says whether attempting to be funny or not.

That being said, I do think humor is subjective. Say hypothetically I was with my eleven year old nephew and the car radio was talking about inflation. If from the backseat I heard him say inflation blah blah 420 blah 69, I would absolutely find it hilarious.

Musk doing the same thing on a social media site which has been ruined under his stewardship is just truly pathetic.

That’s fair. His humor is stunted and situationally inappropriate as well as far less clever than he thinks. He’s a middle aged deadbeat father making dirty jokes that are fine for a 14 year old to a crowd of everyone while lecturing about how other people aren’t funny. I would expect more clever sex jokes from an 18 year old in the context. And there is no added component of “lol I’m immature here”.

Good to know he’s also confidently incorrect about humor theory.

If humor required some intuitive truth then entire genres of comedy wouldn’t work including absurdism, surrealism, and most wordplay.

Also some of the funniest shit I’ve ever heard relied on “wokeism”. There’s a lot of dark humor in struggling against bigotry.

Elon musk is that kid who thinks he’s bullied for being a nerd when hes actually being mocked and not included because he’s a bigoted asshole whose idea of humor comes from 4chan

My understanding is that being ‘woke’ is just kind of not being an asshole to people.

Elon is basically saying, it’s funnier to be an asshole to people.

Here’s a tip. Don’t be an asshole to people. The joke is never worth it.

We should remind Elon Musk about his inflation tweet.

Tell him to search for Elon Musk Inflation.

Billionaires that can’t even keep a marriage going make me feel pity for them.

Honestly my life is irredeemable and an unremarkable small pile of lukewarm garbage.

But I look down at Bezos, Musk, et. al. The ability to recognize when one has enough is a basic quality of humans.
