If hype stopped selling, they’d stomp hyping.

Marketing games in 2023: “We’re very excited to announce that we have an announcement to make next month!”

More seriously, not the biggest GTA fan, but I hope it lives up to expectations. People have been waiting a decade at this point. Also looking forward to seeing how many times Rockstar will be able to re-release GTA 6 over the next decade.

Oh boy a slow moving camera panning over some NPCs to show the scenery and some cutscene shots of a game launching a year from now, two years if on PC.

I’m Rockstar disillusioned, that’s the problem with waiting over a decade to put out a sequel, I went from 15 to 25.

You should have been older in the glory days.

GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas - in rapid succession.

        Followed by GTA IV

Followed by Red Dead Redemption (which I only played after RDR2, because I assumed they’d make a PC-port)

        Followed by GTA V

        2001, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2013

Then it took until 2018 to get RDR2, and at best we’re seeing GTA VI in 2024.

And let us not forget that we had GTA and GTA2 back in the 90’s. 1997 and 1999.

I’m actually intrigued, not much of GTA player myself, however I want to know:

    • fans reaction, since Rockstar kinda bungled the recent remasters / re-releases of RDR and GTA definitive version
    • Rockstar’s approach to the new game, since I believed that they made lots more of money from GTA Online
    • how the tone / jokes in the game would be. Those satirical jokes about America might not work anymore, since the actual country has become so absurd.

I liked GTA V and I think RDR2 was a wild change of pace so I’m interested to see how (if at all) they implement RDR2 style systems into the game. Hopefully that means less GTA:SA/GTA IV chores though. Those SUCKED. I am 100000% going to wait on this one though, after the remasters it really just seems like Rockstar is after cash and nothing else.

I do hope that after the travesty of RDR Online and the sort-of-disaster of GTA Online (it made them a lot of money but people hated it) they learn from their mistakes. I don’t doubt there’ll be an online mode. One of the major problems with GTA Online was just that they kept updating it without a really good direction for it, so maybe this time they’ll start off on the right foot. It seemed that way with RDR Online but they fucked up the economy to the point of no return.

Eh, the actual country has gotten absurd but I think a lot of the GTA V jokes are still very prescient. Just replace the scientology jokes with QAnon jokes.

Based on the leaks…. We shouldn’t have to worry too much about the diluting of jokes

      hidden or nsfw stuff

They made fun of QAnnon and conspiracy theorists. That female MC has got one hell of a cake btw
