    Until I realized that this was francophone music celebrating St. Jean Baptiste day, I thought it was a showcase of the late great Congolese musician Franco and his band OK Jazz!

      That’s interesting. Did a Jazz bar open up somewhere in Sudbury in the past couple years, or are you just a huge fan? Would be great to have a new haunt playing something different than every other bar in the region…

        I’m not a huge fan of jazz, but I do love a lot of African music.

        I’m not sure if you understood my reference. Franco was a massively famous and influential Congolese musician, active during the 1950s-1980s. His backup band was called OK Jazz (later TPOK Jazz).

        The music had jazz influences, but I wouldn’t call it jazz.

        And no, I don’t know about any new clubs opening in Sudbury. Sorry.
