    There is this pilot project I’ve been keeping an eye on taking place in Hinton, Alberta. It’s a geothermal project they are using to power a vertical farming operation as well as a fish farm. I consider this article about the Netherlands and their development of vertical farming. That relatively tiny slip of land has become a huge exporter of food thanks to that development, so I wonder if there’s some way we can combine these two things. Not only would it allow for a fresher variety of food grown locally in urban locations, it could go a long way towards solving the problem our remote northern communities have with expensive or unavailable produce.

    I mean saskatoon has a lot of university farms fields right in the center of it. Can totally be done on rooftops as well.
