NFTs are actually a terrible way to support artists. most artists don’t break even on NFTs. the only people you are supporting are greedy pyramid scheme salesmen, and unnecessarily acidifying the oceans

I agree wholeheartedly as something of an artist myself. (Willem Dafoe meme)

NFT is made for spaculation and gambling in mind. The need for authenticity in digital art is a big lie and pushing for that will only lead in a bad direction trying to limit artist when we should give more freer rights to artist to create more stuff.

Posted this video in [email protected] a while ago going through some of the drama that came. It seems most artists are united in that NFTs are a scam.

But I don’t see how this fits in [email protected] it would probably fit better in [email protected]

If anyone needed authenticity artists could just digitally sign their work. What the NFT scam wants to provide is artificial scarcity. Physical goods can only be sold once wheras digital works can be copied losslessly and some people (music labels, gallerys etc.) for some reason (money) think this is bad. Even if someone thinks like that NFTs are still stupid as they could just sell licenses.

Why does it matter if someone comments on every post? That’s what the platform allows. So you cam either choose to not respond or don’t post. If you don’t agree and don’t want to respond then just downvote.

I’m someone asking a question. And if putting a comment on a post, that allows comments, is hijacking then you’re really not going to like the rest of the internet.

Folks really just can’t be civil on Lemmy apparently huh?

One would assume that a platform that is attempting to promote folks posting things and allows comments that we can have a discussion without attacking each other. But I guess not, huh?
