Tzipi Navon, a close adviser to and office manager for Netanyahu’s wife, Sara, posted incendiary remarks on Facebook saying it was not enough to “flatten Gaza.”
“It won’t calm the storm of emotions, it won’t dull the intensity of the rage and pain that can’t find an outlet for them,” Navon wrote.
Instead, she said the culprits should be captured and tortured “one-by-one” by pulling out their nails and skinning them alive.
Further detailing the type of torture she saidthey should endure, Navon said that male genitals should be cut off, fried and fed to the captured.
“Save their tongues for last, so we can enjoy his screams, his ears so he can hear his own screams, and his eyes so he can see us smiling,” she said.
What Hamas did was terrible. But this is still nuts.
I don’t think you need to preface with “what Hamas did was terrible” for this particular one. This is just plain nuts.
Nevermind that official Hamas policy, unlike that of actual terrorist states, is very opposed to civilian casualties. Whether individual fighters are listening to that is clearly debatable, but it’s not like Hamas has the facilities to train up a professional army.
“They were going to attack schoolchildren at a school!” - the attack was on a Saturday during Shabbat, the one day a week you could ensure that nobody would be in the school
“They attacked an EDM rave!” - within earshot of both the concentration camp (Gaza) and the IDF Gaza Division, with tanks that are minutes away, and with armed personnel on the premises… I’m sure the target must have been the rave, though
“They killed and raped this naked girl!” - the family reports the girl is alive and being treated at a hospital in Gaza (though given the hospital situation in Gaza that’s not saying much anymore), the video evidence shows her as clearly clothed, and her safety shorts/boots are both still on
Yes, civilians died at that’s absolutely tragic and we should absolutely condemn Hamas for any civilian loss of life, but let’s not pretend like Hamas consists of evil boogeyman Muslim terrorists dead-set on killing every Israeli in Israel, even if that’s what the US needs you to believe so you can support military aid for Israel.
