Some are ignorant. Some embrace the totalitarian rule. Yet others are so disenfranchised and distanced from power that it’s a victory to be part of tearing it down. They’ll never be part of the club so whatever hurts some of them is good enough.

      That’s my armchair analysis.

I would say willfully ignorant, but your point stands. When you purposefully stuff yourself into an echo chamber GOP voters are the result.

Trump is a giant prick. Robert DeNiro is a lesser prick, but an uneducated, stupid, anti-vax prick nonetheless, who should not have the spotlight shined on him any more. Just because the brainless ape happened to say something correct this time, doesn’t mean his opinion matters. He’s right, but they both suck royally.

I get that this post isn’t reaching the intended audience here. But y’all gotta remember that the people who vote for Trump listen to celebrities like DeNiro. I’ll accept fighting one celebrity with another in this particular instance. Especially when he’s willing to use strong language like “evil” “no morals” “pretends to be a tough guy” and equates Trump’s handling of the pandemic to the way an abusive father handles a household.

Why do I care about what some actor says? Fuck Trump and all but actors seem fairly fucking stupid by and large.

Basically seems like “Oh Golly gee this fella pretends well… Let’s ask him about theoretical physics!”

that’s a real good excuse to not read what he had to say

“He’s a wannabe tough guy with no morals or ethics. No sense of right or wrong. No regard for anyone but himself — not the people he was supposed to lead and protect, not the people he does business with, not the people who follow him, blindly and loyally, not even the people who consider themselves his ‘friends.’”

he’s not talking about physics, you drama queen… he’s talking about what it means to be a man… maybe you don’t know anything about that… Trump certainly never has…

Who fucking cares? His opinion matters about as much as anyone elses. This shit is no different than a Walmart stockers opinion of Trump. The difference being the stockers opinion doesn’t end up put in the fucking news. Robert Dinero is not a political scientist, he’s not a former politician, he’s not a psychologist.

Why is some overpaid actors opinion on who we should elect president being considered important? We should stop worshipping these dillusional overpaid children with no concept of what reality is like for the rest of us. This is no different than asking Ja Rule about 9/11

The headline for this should be “Old Guy Who Reads Lines Someone Else Wrote in Front of Camera has Opinion.”

Because he’s a name people recognize, people like him, and, as much as I don’t like it, Trump’s name in articles gets clicks. Maybe you view it as more of a tabloid article, but if you could maybe stop being so argumentative about it for ten or fifteen seconds, you’d realize the man actually said something pretty damn good. And made you’d think the same of Joe Schmoo down the street if you paused to listen. Not everyone needs to be an expert in order to speak and have a platform.

No one is saying he’s wrong. The problem is we give too much merit to the opinions of the rich and famous only because they’re rich and famous.

We shouldn’t be listening to Leonardo Di’capprio about global warming even if he is right. We should be listening to scientists

Lack of expertise has never stopped him before -

(I feel like I need to preemptively clarify - fuck Trump, but also fuck De Niro, I agree, his opinion is not only entirely irrelevant and definitely not news, but also several years too late. Why anyone cares what he has to say is beyond me)

Not surprised, it should read “Buy and Large” /s

“By and large” is an English euphemism that is used in the English language to express the majority of outcomes for a particular scenario.

An example would be: “By and large, police only protect the interests of the rich.”

Obviously, ~ 74,222,958 people minus the fraudulent votes for Trump in 2020 care what an actor says.

He has a platform? He’s fuckin Robert De Niro. What’s wrong with saying something if people are listening. Trump is and always will be a horrible choice. Who cares who is publicly saying he shouldn’t be in office if he shouldn’t. Fighting that makes me think you support Trump in some way and are just gaslighting.

The problem is not that he’s saying something. The problem is people are listening.

Wanna start an acting class? Fuck yeah, bring in DeNiro! Need help deciding who to vote for? Fuck no!

Choose someone who has absolutely any qualifications to speak on that subject whatsoever. There is no shortage of them.

I don’t think you get that Trump was a celebrity who absolutely used his celebrity status to get elected, because of the fucked up culture this country has that gives celebrities entirely too much attention outside of purely entertainment.

If you’re going to intentionally misinterpret my comments, there ain’t shit I can do about that so I don’t care.

I don’t think you are smart enough to claim you know anything about me. Your justification comes off as support. Shut up and take your humble pie. Or just keep sounding like a clown to anyone you try and engage in “intellectual conversations”.

De Niro can say whatever he wants to who ever he wants because he has earned his fame. Trump bought his with lies and stupidity. Comparing the two, supports Trump and makes you sound dumb. Which you are. So that tracks.
