I would say “a lot”. Granted I don’t have too many irl friends, but I think it does matter to me that I can be myself among trusted friends and I feel it helps if they’re furries as well.

    Very.

I have my fursona and several characters. I also have a fursuit based on Franz and I’ve been mulling over the idea of a Franz tattoo.

I’ve been looking at “spicy” furry stuff for much of my adult life, and I’d say that being a furry is “core” to my identity.

However it’s only recently that I’ve started actually interacting with the fandom. Specifically, I was on a Lemmy instance that was involved in Fediverse Drama™ and decided that, since I was a furry, I might as well join the Furry instance. Then I hopped onto furry.engineer and basically drowned myself in the fandom.

Due to events in my history, I have real problems making friends (both on and offline), so I don’t really get involved in furry communities. But if/when I get through that I’d love to get more involved. Maybe get some art of my fursona, try out VR chat, go to cons. Stuff like that. Might even get a fursuit (imagining one feels oddly “cozy”? It’s odd).

I have a sona, my partner’s a furry and the majority of my friends irl are furries at this point! So pretty furry. I don’t have a fursuit, but hopefully will some day.

I have a fursona and enjoy the art, both sfw and nsfw. I don’t have a fursuit though, both from lack of money but also because I’m not sure whether it’d be comfortable for me. I run hot very easily and I’m asthmatic so breathing is the big issue there. I’ve also never been to a convention of any kind, but again, that’s lack of money more than anything.

I have no fursona. Closest I’ve come to a fursuit is I auditioned for my college mascot and got to wear the costume. It was supper fun and incredibly hot. I’ve never been to a convention because although I’m less than 30 minutes from one of the biggest, I know if I go, I’ll show up, look around, speak to no one and leave. No fursuit because I could never justify the expense for something that would never be worn. Oh, and I like the art.

Don’t really have a specific fursona beyond “it’s me but yote”. I like the art, only have a few furry friends, and don’t hang around any furry communities (Lemmy would be my first real attempt). Never been to a con and not interested in getting a fursuit. Been a furry for close to 2 decades now. I guess I’m just doing my own thing. I appreciate the furry communities immensely but I’m just cheering from the stands.

Hello fellow cheerer. Here is the first place I’m trying to participate too.

  • I literally see myself as an anthropomorphic animal in my mind when I imagine myself, and I have had that self-perception before I even knew what “furry” meant. It’s what ultimately led me to finding the fandom, initially.
