I’ve always been tickled by the fact that there’s not only a New Brunswick in New Jersey, there is in fact also a New Jersey in New Brunswick.

Welcome! I’m actually planning on visiting PEI for the first time this summer, do a little bicycle tour around the island! Do you have any suggestions on things to check out? :) I’m particularly interested in nature spots, history, and cultural stuff but I’d love to hear anything you think is worth a visit for a tourist!

Island Trails is a good place to start if you’d like to do some hiking. I actually started the PEI subreddit aswell and we made a Google map with a bunch of local favorites if you’d like to check that out.

I’ll throw a couple of ideas; I’d love for this community to be more open to bilingualism than /r/newbrunswickcanada. It’d be cool to be able to discuss in both official languages, we all have access to translation tools nowadays. Personally, I’ll try to participate in both French and English, especially if acting as a moderator.

Secondly, to echo a common suggestion I see on reddit; if someone shares an article hidden behind a paywall (let’s say the Telegraph Journal), should they copy/paste the article into the comments?

    Howdy :) Just subscribed!

I’m not currently in New Brunswick, but I grew up there and continue to visit as often as I can.
