Where does the time go, honestly.

I’ve not had much stitchy time the last couple of weeks but with the weather here finally turning in a more Autumnal direction I was inspired to put some time into my Steampunk World Map project.

It’s a weird one because one cog can take absolutely ages, but I’m still enjoying it and that’s what counts. I’ve rejigged some dates in my Notion project planner and apparently am going to finish this one by the end of the year so…bearing in mind I started it about 2 years ago and thought it was going to take me a week…watch this space.

What’s been keeping you occupied this week? Remember you can embed images like so:

Oof I missed to post last week’s thread and almost forgot this week’s. You beat me by two hours! We’re planning a short vacation and it turned out more stressful than I expected. Also work is draining me… I really need that vacation! Anyway I’m mostly done with the cat.

I have some more work to do on that boooooring blue da bi Dee da ba da book, as well as the porcelain throne. I gave myself some… creative liberties with the TP as metallic grey isn’t the best paper colour. Once I’m done with that, I’ll do the backstitch. I admit, I don’t like working on this as much as I thought. The solid block really made it a grind.

The greenhouse of oddities is on hold until I finish this. I kind of want to get back at it but if I do I’ll end up leaving this on hold indefinitely…

Maybe you can reward yourself by backstitching some kind of horribly sarcastic title onto the book when you’re finished 😄

Hope your vacation is everything you need it to be!

There are now 2! colors in this stitch. Sadly it will remain 2 for a while since I’ll probably do the other patch of this color when I finish this part. partially completed my neighbor Totoro cross-stitch showing part of Totoro's body in two colors

Ooh it’s looking great so far! I like the colors a lot. And agreed about the time, I have too many projects I want to do and so little time for them.

Thanks! I’ve found the #FallFinishAlong over on Mastodon to be very motivational in terms of at least pulling out these old hibernating projects, even if I have no chance of actually finishing them during the event. Still, progress is progress 😅

It looks amazing so far! I have to admit I got a bit overwhelmed with the blackwork tarot card so I’ve put it on hold for a bit, but I’m going to finish it up soon hopefully!

Understandable! Sometimes you need a break and to just do something else for a bit, this is my excuse for always having so many projects on the go at once 😄

I’m taking the advice I got from one of your videos and using DMC branded floss on the new piece I just started instead of the floss from that cheap multipack I bought and it is making a WORLD of difference lol

Hah! Honestly I am such a thoroughly cheap person that if I ever advise spending extra on something you know there’s got to be a good reason 😅

Patiently awaiting project photos of whatever this new start is…
