For any who do use Sync and would prefer the font to be larger, there is a font size setting available by tapping the following shortcut:
Settings shortcut: General > Base font size
And
settings > comments > always show comment actionsfor the other issue mentioned.Settings shortcut: Comments > Always show comment actions

Changed font size, and I found out you can also disable animations, much better.
