The response on CO2 was such an uninformed take I found it hilarious.

Carbon tax is wrong. CO2 is wonderful for plants, trees, and whatever else, and the more CO2 we have, the better the plants thrive, and we need plants, that’s the essence of civilization, if you’d like. If you don’t have plants, you don’t have people. So CO2 is good.

It’s like saying “Plants need to be watered, so we need more floods and hurricanes!”

Weird mix of “blatant examples of the current conservative party’s problems” and “carefully bland deflection and PR speech.”

TBH, the mere existence of the first should probably be proof enough the inmates are running the asylum, as it were. Somebody walks up to you with a microphone outside the convention, and you’re happy to spout hate and conspiracies, blithly admit you have no solutions that don’t hurt broad swaths of the population, and deny reality when you find it inconvenient? How… just how.

I’m not surprised by the the points made at the convention. They confirm my fears that peoples attraction to conservative party of Canada are small minded, bigots, ill informed, and greedy.

Surprisingly, the Union of Canadian Correctional Officers have a mascot costume of a cute dog in uniform for public events. I can’t think of why they need a furry prison guard to provide outreach to children. There is even pictures of them at a furry picnic
