My first thought is that it’s misogyny. There are certainly people think that women exist to reproduce. However, I thought the generally accepted definition for “geriatric” in obgyn was 35. I’m not sure why 28 would be the cut off. Maybe that’s when women start to lose their sexual appeal to those men? The flip side of course is that men have infinite potential so 28 is just the start.

I do agree that transitioning ticks all the boxes without footnotes.

I’m not sure why 28 would be the cut off.

That’s commonly seen as ‘spinster’ age in several East Asian countries, like China and Japan. I don’t know how that came to be historically, but 27 or 28 is generally considered to be the age a woman should be married by.

It is misogyny, but in the context of women the 28 is 100% a number they chose for effect. That being said as an overly self aware man I do agree with the male part of what this douchebag says. I’m 30 now and since around 28 or 29 I feel a level of mental capacity that I had never felt before, even though most people could describe me as “smart” even before then. I literally feel like I’ve been born again sometimes.

That being said I have no way to know if this is not the case for women. I’m very skeptical of that, because I’m also not sure this is the case for all men.

He is saying a woman’s value is only linked to her looks while a man’s value is linked to his status (money). At 28, a person’s age starts to show (ending for woman) while their career is probably beginning to take off (starting for men).

      It’s obviously a disgusting comment.

I think maybe the twitter post implies that they were a couple and broke up and the man starts to live again (because freed ?) but the woman doesn’t ??
