    They should use Matrix so they can talk with the French and German military, who already use Matrix.

        No, the German military even runs two different Matrix based systems that do not federate with each other (higher and lower security clearance).

        Edit: all these recent “matrix” government systems are only matrix based but not part of the matrix federation. That is a bit like calling WhatsApp a XMPP deployment…
