Note: From the time since I originally posted this link, DuckDuckGo has clarified the status of search filters, and the article has been revised to reflect that. Thus, I’ve edited the Wayback Machine link to show the revised article. I apologize for any confusion, and I hope this clears things up!
Ah yes another day of commercial services on the web getting worse. I didn’t even know that google doesn’t even honor “” anymore. DDG doesn’t accept “” to search for exact terms now as well. Fuck this.
Time to move to another one I guess
There’s a decent list here: https://itsfoss.com/privacy-search-engines/
Thank you!
it’s hard to move away from the bajillions of !bangs, though :/

it would appear they have an explanation for all this on github, although i don’t use DDG so i cannot speak to how useful it is
So, a documentation issue along with ongoing bug fixing and the OP article is just sensationalist BS? Or am I reading this wrong?
Thank you for the link to the GitHub issue! I’ve found that the article I’ve linked has also been updated with mention of the issues with the search filters.
But why?
Hmm. Guess that’s why DDG wasn’t accessible through my SearX the other day. Bah!
