I wish these fucking Christians would mind their own fucking business and stop trying to force their beliefs on others.

I think its great Christian groups are actively engaging their representative.

What I wish is that the groups that I agree with would stop doing useless stuff like protesting and instead follow the path that groups like Christians take to bring about change.

Eh, this isn’t traditional engagement with representatives, like letters, calls, etc. This is planned and executed coercion, backhand lobbying and other tactics to get their stuff done.

If they did it correctly, sure I’d support it and ask the other side to get to it, but I can’t support underhanded tactics to get stuff done with politicians.

Why not if it works. It doesn’t seem smart to hold onto morals so tightly when you let more harm happen by not acting

So play dirty because we have to stoop to their level?

I’m sorry, fuck no. Absolutely fuck no.

We shouldn’t have had to get here. The unwritten rules shouldn’t have had to have been broken, and they shouldn’t have to be matched.

You know what’s going to happen if we go down to match their level? They’re going to stoop lower. Then lower then lower.

Never argue with someone in the dirt because they’re drag you down and beat you with experience.

So what will be done? Due process. It’ll be slow but it’ll win. Slowly but surely the trash will be taken out. It won’t be easy and it won’t be quiet but it’ll be done.

What is a concrete thing you think they’re doing.

I’m asking because I don’t think its bad to lobby government. Its Democratic to do it. Its unethical to grease wheels but if that is what it takes, it needs to get done. Its not unethical to use money to hire think tanks to research and develop strategies and name politicians who your group can target with lobbyist who you also hire and get them to bring your issues to the politician to argue why it’s in their benefit to push your cause. That’s how government works.

Maybe its time regular people started organizing and greasing some wheels too for housing, disability, minority issues and if these groups can’t muster the support maybe they need to continue to evaluate their approach

Look into think tanks. Exact same reasoning. Many have tax exempt status because they’re supposed to be non partisan lol

No, it shouldn’t be allowed to under any circumstances. There should be no religion in public society

I’m still for the personal freedom of religion, just as long as that freedom stops where the freedoms of others starts.

I’m pro-religious freedom as well, people can have it in their home and in their temple. It’s outside of that where it shouldn’t be part of their lives

I can’t believe it! Jordan Peterson was right all along! He may have got some of the details wrong — it’s conservatives in Saskatchewan, not Liberals in Ottawa — but they really are making rules about what pronouns people can use. Exactly what he tried to warn us about.
