Live in New Zealand. Locked down hard and early, followed by a new lockdown in our biggest city every few months when a case sneaks through the quarantine at border, but largely things have been normal here the last 9 months.

Our vaccination programme has only really just started as we had no reason to rush approval of the vaccine. Currently doing high risk, the general population vaccination doesn’t start for another couple of months.

Some places, such as New Zealand, handled the outbreak far better than most.

The mountains. The trees planted by our great grandparents. The endless steppes. Squirrels that are fat and brave because everyone loves them and feeds them. Fresh produce, local and from our neighbors.

    Oh there’s so many

    • Giant fresh water ocean
    • Low CoL for a city
    • Most convenient airport (in the world)
    • Architecture If I had to pick one thing I guess it’d be the CoL to arts and culture ratio.

House prices are cheap so I can afford a two bedroom house for the same cost of a tiny flat in the capital. I live on the edge of a city, but I have plenty of green space nearby for walking, and it’s really quiet. I’m right next to plenty of transport links so if I want to go anywhere it’s easy.

It’s pretty during the spring and summer months and Mt. Rainier is within view, which is also pretty.

    • It is not a city, it is a village.
    • It is near to the coast and touch nature directly.
    • Low prices in comparison with other municipalities and mainland.
    • I know the place.
