Ive been revisiting elden ring and have been keeping my summon sign up helping people.
I helped 5 people get through Malenia today when i had an interesting one… we beat the first phase, skipped cut scene, but instead of going up for her scarlet bloom…she didn’t. I look at the health bar and she’s got no health left. Before i could do anything she got attacked and died for good. It was bizarre. Hopefully the host didn’t mind they got robbed of the 2nd phase lol.
So how about you-- any boss fights that glitched unexpectedly? Or non-boss fights? I know there are glitches people intentionally exploit for speed runs and skips so this isn’t about those unless you happened to find them unexpectedly.
I have ended up inside the boss fight as an invader hella times in Elden Ring. Mostly at Rennala.
I have also had the golden hippo die and then not actually unlock the room or anything so I was just fucking stuck in the boss arena with no boss. But that only happened once, the day the DLC came out.
It’s a glitch that’s probably used in speed runs or BL4 runs in Bloodborne, but it’s also one I’ve encounter naturally. Sometimes, when fighting Orphan of Kos and parrying at the correct time, maybe a few times in a row - can’t remember - you can make Orphan just stop attacking altogether. He basically just chills and does nothing.
And there was probably some other glitch - I vaguely think there was one - when I was playing Khazan? I remember struggling with one particular boss and it somehow glitching out, basically also stopping all attacks and becoming a punching bag. Can’t for the life of me remember who it was, though
I sometimes forget people parry. It was a hard thing to learn in sekiro/bloodborne 😅
Bloodborne isn’t as reliant on it, but there’s no way around it in Sekiro, I’m afraid, so good thing you did :D
Not in Elden Ring, but a few times in other games.
In DS3 I was summoned to help with Dancer, and she somehow managed to grab me and the host at the same time. So we were about 15 feet apart, me in Dancer’s hand, and host floating in mid air both going through the grab animation.
There was another time in DS3 in the Cathedral of the deep. The first giant hit me and knocked me into a small corner between the short staircase on the ground floor and I was stuck there, had to bone out.
And another glitch in Cathedral where I clipped through the ceiling while riding the elevator and went out of bounds - here’s a YouTube short of it that I captured and also mention the above glitch https://youtube.com/shorts/g1mHaiism_k
In DS1 I had Moonlight Butterfly glitch out. It spawned much further away from the bridge than normal, and it was rotated 90 degrees so it was facing perpendicular to what it normally would be (facing towards the arena entrance rather than facing the bridge). I forget what happened, but I think I had to save and quit out to make it reload properly.
Wow, how do you even remember all that? I’ve fought so many bosses and I remember pretty much nothing about the encounters - let alone any glitches I might have seen
My memory is very poor, but somehow retains some info like this. And I guess the surprise of the glitches makes these moments more memorable. I could not tell you many details about the other 100 times I fought Dancer lol.
I guess it makes sense that it sticks out then
You remember a lot more than me! I’m sure ive had some others but only vague feelings. The dancer one is pretty wild though lol.
Huh, I thought they had “fixed” that bug. Originally the problem was that if you were playing co-op and/or had ashes summoned and then ended her first phase with a riposte, her second phase would spawn with 1 hp and not do the normal opening moves. There was a patch that was supposed to make ending her first phase with a riposte just… not do anything, because apparently that was the closest to an actual fix they could figure out. I have no idea why that patch change didn’t take effect for you (assuming that the riposte thing is what happened, it’s the only version of this glitch I know about)
Huh, i see that listed on the wiki now. All the fights i did today kind of blur together but sounds about right. I do think that she was crit from poise breaking though. I stunlocked her with my earthquake ash of war and once we broke her poise the other furled finger crit. But like i said everything blurs together so maybe it was a riposte
It’s also definitely possible that it also happens with stance breaks and the wiki failed to mention it
