I wasn’t a fan of bandersnatch, and I ended up watching a passive edit of the Kimmy Schmidt special.

I discovered very soon into bander that I’m not interested in interactive television. About half way it started feeling like a chore, and then when I found there was dead ends and multiple endings I was looking for the next natural ending to turn it off. If I was watching it alone I probably would have just quit on the spot.

I go to television to be told a story. If I want a game, I’ll go play a video game with a controller better than a TV remote.

I’ll admit I liked the concept behind Bandersnatch. The story it tried to tell was also pretty neat and had something going for it. A look into game development in the 80s and mentions of retro computer systems (C64 and ZX Spectrum) hit all the right boxes. Sadly, the novelty wore off quickly.

It’s was essentially a pick your own adventure with 3 decisions all creating a 1-2min clip. I personally ouldn’t recommend it, but they tried something new
