It doesn’t matter that some people may believe it, the evidence is clear that it doesn’t work beyond the placebo effect. It should be illegal on the same principles that make pyramid schemes illegal, pyramid schemes also do work for some.
Since a lot of people are fine with placebos to feel better (studies support it), I support this over prescribing medicine all the time. This way less people feel the need to drink holy water
I refuse to pay for placebo when it costs more than actual medicine.

And as an important tool for those thinking the placebo effect is at all relevant, please keep in mind the design of the study you read and the disclosures (or lack thereof) at the end of said study. We’re still reeling from the sugar industry effects on research into nutrition.
They would get some unregulated stuff online then, and then it gets really expensive if their liver fails later on. Or shop for doctors until they get something.
