I want to switch from those American for profit news outlets to Euro or non-profit news outlets, what are my options?
I will list the ones I know and I find here:
- Bloomberg: TBA.
- Reuters : Associated Press.
- New York Times: Follow The Money, Mediapart.
- Politico: The Guardian.
- The Verge: The Register, Techzine, Heise.
Reuters is Canadian
That said I think choosing the AP as an alternative is still good as far as organizational hierarchy goes.
Reuters aid government agencies in their investigations.
Matter of fact, they got sued for their privacy.
On Oct. 11, a San Francisco judge gave preliminary approval to a settlement that would see Thomson Reuters cough up $27.5 million, mostly to state residents. The deal caps off a legal battle that began in 2020: Two Alameda County activists sued the media giant over its Clear product, accusing the company of compiling millions of people’s personal data and putting it up for sale on the searchable database.
What about the British broadcasting corporation, BBC, Canadian broadcasting corporation CBC Australian broadcasting corporation ABC? Also America’s own PBS and NPR are very much in need of support at the moment

I don’t think they replace any specific news outlet from the ones I listed.
I’m confused. I mean, New York Times and Reuters are generalist news outlets. Politico is a politics news and analysis site. In what respect are the public broadcasters not offering what you’re looking for? I love The Guardian but I don’t see how it’s a better match?
BBC News and ABC News and CBC News services (podcasts or read online) are good for general and political & business world news and analysis, including US news. They have news streams, in-depth analysis pieces and a huge range of podcasts.
PBS and NPR have online news streams and podcasts on all of these topics also.
