It’s something like a decade old, has some unimportant cracks just off the edge of the screen, but still works for me. I kind of want a replacement but looking at more recent phones makes me wonder if I should bother. I’d actually kind of like a new battery, maybe, if that’s even possible anymore.
Google Pixel 9, I got it exclusively because it runs GraphineOS. Other than that the phone sucks, it gets quite hot and battery life isnt great. It has basically nothing that would make me reccomend it to anyone, at the same time I personally love it. Specifically I love GraphineOS and the privacy/security benefits.
Not happy (iPhone) this flickering/temporal dithering is just bringing my eyes do munch pain. Cannot wait for my Eink phone to arrive.
Which one are you getting ?
Bigme Hibreak Pro, it’s a smartphone like any other except it uses an Eink carta 1200 screen.
Motorola RAZR 2024(RAZR 50 in Europe/Asia)
I bought it not realizing it has a mediatek processor. This makes it impossible to run a third party ROM on the device outside of DSU sideloading which is not ideal. I dislike this device.
If you don’t mind being spied on I suppose it’s fine, I liked it until I got a reality check regarding the data collection it does.
very happy
2nd hand pix 4a 128 no 5g with lineage os on it
it rocks
I’m rocking the 3a with Calyx OS, derived from Lineage OS, it’s also pretty good. It actually fits in my hand and pockets and has a headphone jack!
Moto g play 2024. Happy with it. My flatmate just got a new Galaxy, which cost about 9x as much. For my use case, I’m missing a brighter display, esim support, and gorilla glass. That’s not worth paying 9x. My battery also lasts significantly longer.
Eh. Currently on a pixel 8a with grapheneos. I have no clue why the battery is performing so poorly. I wish I could charge it to 80% and have it only drain to 40% at the end of the day but I have to do some charging mid day or after I heavily use my phone to watch tv shows or something
I have a fairphone 5 with standard android. I plan to put Postmarket OS on it as soon as it gets 5G support. I love my phone so far; it’s perfect for me and I plan to stick with that company.
Pixel 5. The battery is starting to fade. Otherwise it’s fine. Not super excited about Google all the way up my arse with it, but that’s Android OS. I’m hoping it’ll hold until the EU battery replacement laws come in 2027.
GraoheneOS is designed for the pixel line of phones, it has a simple installer on their website.
It locks Google services into a sandbox to significantly limit their data collection abilities.
S24 ultra and it rocks in all aspects :)
iPhone and I’m not happy anymore with all the privacy invasion from Apple. Settings are automatically enabled instead of opt-in which is pissing me off. That’s why I’m switching to GrapheneOS in a few days.
Which google pixel are you getting?
(I know nothing about Pixels) I bought the 8a model because it’s supported for 7 years by GrapheneOS, it’s cheaper (450 euros) but still recent, people don’t really complain about it, and I compared with the other Pixels on https://www.gsmarena.com/.
I wanted a FairPhone first but I would have had to choose between the Google version (too much Google) or the e/OS version (not enough features for me). The Pixel 8a seemed like a good compromise and I get my privacy back.
GraphineOS is also the most secure OS, personally though I would reccomend getting a used Google Pixel 9 (you can find it cheap). I personally bought mine new for the equivalent of 530 EUR.
Not too happy, my main complaint is that since 2020 all phone are too big for my small hands and I hate it.
I have a Pixel 7, and I couldn’t recommend it. I feel my Pixel 3a was much more responsive, and the bluetooth was much more reliable. The bluetooth on my P7 is frustratingly bad, it restarts randomly several times an hour. It took me almost an entire day to get the pixel 3 watch registered and configured because it kept restarting before the process could complete. I’m to the point where I may need to go back to wired headphones/cables w/ USB-C to 3.5mm adapter
Got a pixel 7 too, and it’s my first pixel so I was hyped, but it is by far the worst android phone I’ve ever had. The number of bugs I’ve ran into is mind boggling. Everything fails every now and then, not just the Bluetooth. I’ve had random restarts, alarms that just don’t go off, of course the BT and more. I’ve had different budget Xiaomi and OnePlus models which have all been far superior to this piece of garbage. All that hype of pixels being the only good Android phones just down the drain.
Interesting, thanks
Would definitely see if this falls under warranty, i had a pixel 7 and it didn’t have any of these issues. Something is definitely wrong with your unit
Thank you for sharing
5-year old(ish) Motorola One and other than wishing my battery drained slower, no complaints but I appreciate it more every time I hear how much people spend (or are manipulated into spending via financing) on the flagship phones
Note: it still gets about 6 hours under load so the battery thing isn’t that big of a deal
Got a Motorola One action, around the same age. No real complaints, and I really like the shake to turn in the flashlight, use it all the time. And it has a headphone jack.
I’ve got an S23 Ultra, and I absolutely love it. It’s still super fast, the battery life is great, and it can take a beating. I’ve dropped it multiple times without a case (I know, risky 😅), and it’s held up like a champ—barely a scratch.
The camera is amazing too. The zoom is crazy good, and it takes super detailed photos. The screen is big and looks stunning.
I think it was around $1300 USD when I got it, but you can probably find it cheaper now with deals. Honestly, it’s been worth every penny for me!
Same here. Though I only like it because of the S-Pen. I don’t really like the rest of Samsungs stuff.
