(I know nothing about Pixels) I bought the 8a model because it’s supported for 7 years by GrapheneOS, it’s cheaper (450 euros) but still recent, people don’t really complain about it, and I compared with the other Pixels on https://www.gsmarena.com/.
I wanted a FairPhone first but I would have had to choose between the Google version (too much Google) or the e/OS version (not enough features for me). The Pixel 8a seemed like a good compromise and I get my privacy back.
GraphineOS is also the most secure OS, personally though I would reccomend getting a used Google Pixel 9 (you can find it cheap). I personally bought mine new for the equivalent of 530 EUR.
