Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing but hate for Putler, but one has to give one to him:
Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Andropov, countless Soviet leaders failed to win against the US and not one of them thought of the most obvious solution: That instead of spending most of their GDP on weapons they could easily have bought the US.
It took a mediocre KGB agent who’s career would have ended in Dresden, East Germany, without the ending of the eastern bloc, to realise that the most capitalist nation can simply be bought.
