Maybe I can bring myself to be excited about it by the time we know if it’s actually any good, for now though I couldn’t care less. Give me Lower Decks season 6.

I think lower decks has ended for good. But, I think we will see a continuation of the characters in a new show called “upper decks” or something like that.

They have all been promoted to the bridge, so they are not really lower decks anymore.

We have like three entirely reasonable shows all setup that they keep not even touching. All of them episodic, all of them able to both speak to new generations and old.

Upper Decks: Live action show with the characters from Lower Decks. Primary focus is the main characters coming to terms with the fact that they are good enough to be senior members of a crew. Continue the idea that they are the little ship that could and their missions focus around support rather than flagship or the biggest of the bads.

Prodigy 2.0: Again live action, with Ella Purnell as a captain who is super in demand and capable and would be fantastic in the role. Focus here is again episodic, when the rest of the Federation has abandoned exploration due to all the BS at the start of Picard, they are the only crew left with the charter to seek out new life and new civilizations. You have an incredibly young but capable cast and easily could bring in some heavy hitters to support them.

Legacy: This idea has floated around a ton since Picard S3, honestly its the least developed of the ideas and I’d rather see a way to roll it into one of the much better and more fleshed out ideas above. I feel like the final scene in Picard was an afterthought while both Lower Decks and Progidy it was a true capstone.

…all estimates to date project that the series will debut on Paramount+ sometime in 2026. In the meantime, the show has already been renewed for a second season of production.

Glad they believe in it enough to want a second season.

Now I wait until 2026 to see Parrises squares onscreen at last 🙏

Yeah, they announced the second season renewal very early - right around the time production on season one was starting.

      Hopefully it’s a good sign.

Time will tell on that one.

I think I read that Giamatti’s character has a connection to one of the leads, so I’m kind of hoping he’s someone’s Bad Dad.

I have never been less excited for a Star Trek show. After the absolute dumpster fires we’ve gotten lately, I don’t expect this to be any better.

Nice patch, nice pennant. I hope they’re planning some solid merch for this. Even if the show turns out to be a disappointment, I’d be happy to buy some Starfleet Academy gear.
