Looks like my post beta purchase was worth it. Left everything default, DLSS balanced, no ray trace, no frame gen.
Lowest dip I saw was very brief high 50s going into the village.
So looks like they made good on some optimization, but room for improvement.
I still don’t think it looks anywhere near good enough to need the power they’re asking for. And I bet even I struggle when you throw in denuvo and more particle effects, which were not on show really at all in the benchmark.
If you’re hoping this benchmark doesn’t have the optimizations, I think, truly hope, you’re wrong or I misunderstand.
It would be an unbelievable fumble to release a benchmark without the optimizations. Like I would no longer have faith in Capcom’s business decisions.
I suppose that’s a good point. I was trying to be optimistic about getting better results than the benchmark as of now, but it definitely doesn’t make sense to release it if it’s inaccurate to begin with.
Unfortunately for you if you’re not getting good results, I do think it is inaccurate and showing better than what we’ll actually get.
Add Denuvo (debate all you want) AND the fact that this really has no combat with particles, explosions, terrain interaction, other hunters, etc. I suspect this will end up a PR benchmark to help assuage early OBT fears and we may see another release review bomb for PC just like world/iceborne. I’m hoping for quick post-release patches, be they official or modders doing the machine spirit’s work.

From what I recall reading they said the optimizations would not make it into the beta, but would be on launch. Hopefully that accounts for this too
But to clarify for the betas, yes, those will not be performance optimized over the first. Just have new monster hunt options of
spoiler
gypceros and apparently arkveld now.
