    Streaming bootlegged games is a fast track to legal trouble. I don’t blame Nintendo at all here.

      Agreed. I hate Nintendo and their scummy tactics just like anyone else, but sadly the law is on their side here. Also, they’re known for this. Why would you do this and then double down after they start taking down your content.

      I am not on Nintendo’s side, but I have zero sympathy for someone who does this to themselves.

        …why? Pirating games and streaming games don’t correlate to skill in testing games.

      When you distribute physical copies of games to stores, I don’t think it’s really practical to prevent physical copies from getting taken inappropriately 100%

        Make 'em require an online patch to be playable after first install.

        Actually, I should shut the fuck up, they might actually hear me

          Then that pretty much defeats the purpose of physical media, people will be out in droves angry that they can’t play their new games offline or have to day 1 patch, etc

          There’s no perfect solution here.

            Obviously you just mandate your game and console be always online and at that point you may as well just live stream the game to their house, don’t need to download if you never actually own it right?? Make them pay per the minute of game time and only unlock the next level after they’ve played long enough! Hell! Why even sell a game?? Just have people pay you for the right to advertise that they paid for it and charge them a daily subscription to keep the rights! Nobody owns anything but you! Art and entertainment is merely a vessel to siphon money from the masses! Purchase their souls for a hit of dopamine! Rent them their own eyes!

          people play games prior to release all the time, the major issue here is streaming it. (and uh directly antagonizing nintendo didn’t help)

    Sometime a streamer, he show his pre-release to corporation Nintendo and say “You will never get this you will never get it la la la la la la.” Nintendo behind its lawyer. Nintendo cries, Nintendo cries and everybody laughs. Streamer goes “You never get this.” But one time Nintendo send lawsuit and Nintendo “get this” and then we all laugh. High five!

      I have no issues with piracy, but streaming pirated materials is just dumb. Streaming pirated materials of a company that is known for being litigious? Just put your whole dick in the wasp nest.

      That’s why this is funny.

      You know, it’s okay to recognize Nintendo’s scummy legal practices while also recognizing that in this one single instance they are in the right.

          Well that’s not how the law works, you don’t get to violate it just because you don’t like it.

          That’s sovereign citizen BS, and that never ends well for them either.

            You understand that arguments about the legitimacy of law is an argument about whether a law should exist rather than if a law does exist, right?

            There’s a difference between saying that someone’s “in the right” (which they’re absolutely not) and saying someone is legally capable of doing what they want. (which is debatable)

      Streamer sounds like an idiot:

      They emailed Nintendo directly about plans to continue doing so;

      • They emailed Nintendo about helping folks find new versions of emulators, such as Yuzu and Ryujinx;

      It sounds like they actually control quite a lot.

      Turns out, when you do something clearly not okay and then actively go and taunt the people who could sue you for it with it, they might just, you know, do that. Since you actually went and asked them about it.

        I mean I think the guy is stupid, but let’s honestly reflect here, who gives a fuck about some leaked Nintendo game getting played a week or two early. Like honestly, it might not technically be victimless (though even that can be argued), but the ‘damage’ is so small it’s like being upset that someone stepped on your grass.

        I give back what I receive, so in theory…yes.

        Id rather see someone play a leaked game early, then have to deal with some corporate garbage trailer that pulls all the stops to deceive it’s fans. I’d rather see actual gameplay, from a normal user then the slop they script.

        They aren’t selling anything, so what does it matter other then tendo can’t lie as easily.
