It wasn’t forgotten just rightfully abandoned.
Look, they’ve tried democratic republics in the past. It just didn’t work. Monarchy is the worst system we have, but it’s the only system that works.
Why was it “rightfully” abandoned?
Because socialism doesn’t work, and every “socialist” country turns into totalitarian capitalist regimes.
