• A [Lego] minifig doesn’t hold a gun

A Star Wars lego minifig absolutely holds a gun. It may be a blaster, but it’s still a military weapon for killing people.

Disney also has gun wielding pirates and cowboys frontiersmen. Tron: Legacy showed Disney franchises can be about people killing people (without it being Star Wars ) so long as they can sneak it past the parents. And their Atlantis First Person Shooter didn’t show even a half ounce of creativity, and just promised it was not really shooting or killing.

They may only allow Mickey to do band-safe things in official games, but in past Disney products they’ve just found ways to make violence family friendly, rather than making material that had promoted non-violence.

don’t expect Mickey Mouse to pick up an assault rifle

Of course. He would only do that for intellectual property violations.

Wtf even is Fortnite at this point? I’ve played it a couple times here and there but every time I hear news I just get more confused. I’m honestly surprised it still has the massive amount of players that it has. I haven’t heard any kids even talk about it lately and basically nobody my age plays it anymore.

Reminds me of that Space Jam movie where all it did was shove pop culture references in every scene in the most shallow way possible.

I can’t find the meme but it was calling it a blender where you just go, “Oh look Scooby. Oh look Droogs. Oh look Steven Universe.”

Yeah, it’s literally just shoving beloved characters in people’s faces so they go like “Oh look, it’s Rick from Rick and Morty”

I watched a friend’s teenage son play a couple of times. They don’t seem to play battle royale or any kind of competitive mode anymore, they just chat and dick around in what seems to be seasonal levels. Reminds me of my WoW days where I logged in to do my dailies more for the social engagement than the actual gameplay.

A sandbox game, you can do whatever you want with it

As an amateur there is Creative mode where you can place different objects/enemies/spawns

As a more advanced user there is UEFN where you use an sdk (Unreal Editor for FortNite)

One of the only games that runs on almost every platform with cross play and in-game voicechat.

I play it with my coworkers sometimes because it’s the only game where we can play with phone, pc, xbox one, ps4, ps5, and switch in a single party without any issues

Except the one platform that actually matters, Linux. My girlfriend got me into this game and it’s the only game I have to keep a Windows installation around for. It doesn’t run on the Steam Deck, so it’s the only multiplayer game I play where I would even contemplate having to play it on Switch. I hate Epic Games.

We’ll then, no. Unless maybe he’s blasting stars out of his fingers like Mickey Mousecapade…
