I dunno, I think it’s a bit more clever and less desperate than that. The teacher knows the kids are saying it a lot. Getting them to even lightly associate it with their learning objectives will help at least some kids academically. Mnemonics are stronger when they are memorable and repeatable after all.

There is no way the teacher thinks this will make learning “cool”. And the fact that co-opting it speeds up the process that skibidi will become “uncool” is probably just a fringe benefit to the teacher. Really, it’s a masterclass in psychology, a win-win.

I have coined the term hifellowkidsing when I struggle and fail to relate to teens. As in “I heard the neighbor kid loudly bumping what sounded like Eminem so I totally hifellowkidsed him and asked whether or not it was. He rolled his eyes and ignored me”. My only comfort is I was a horrible snot at that age, so I have karmically earned every belabored sigh and humiliated grimace.

Heh, my generation’s slang seems so boring compared to other generation’s. Rad, Totally, Awesome, etc. The words were almost straight out of a dictionary. Earlier in the century it was Cool Cat, bee’s knees, dogs, flippers, speakeasy, but as we approach Gen X it gets mundane. Now we’ve got weird shit every influencer and Vtuber tries to make stick so they have a “thing” to stand out with.

          There’s some difference.

So you have the slang that’s akin to “Rad”. Words used with sincerity to communicate. “Rizz” and “Sus” fall into this category and seem pretty ‘mundane’, shortening Charisma and Suspicious.

Skibidi is a bit different. It’s more like that generations “Wazzzzzzzuuuuuuuup?” It’s something they themselves consider “just stupid to say”.
