Because Reddit is a commercial product. It’s expected to work.
Communities should spread out more instead of defaulting to lemmy.world and/or lemmy.ml
If they implement import & export subscriptions it would help a lot to move
That is great, but it should ideally be built into Lemmy itself and not an external script that may or may not steal your credentials.
Just two buttons in the settings “Export User Data” and “Import User Data” would be enough.
Indeed, I guess it will be built in later on
People can’t be subbed to that much shit already surely.
Even on reddit after a decade I probably only had 100 subs.
I seem to be at around 100 already, though some of those are probably already dead or moved to another instance.
But the easier it is to migrate the more people will do it, if that is the goal.
Not only that, but also exporting & importing comments, keeping their creation time like if they were originally made on that instance.
My two backup accounts were down as well at the same time :c
This is exactly why I have a lemmy.world and a lemdro.id account. I keep them both logged into Voyager and just switch to the other when one goes down.
Yoooo, I use too. Do you know good instance on PC?
These last days I am mostly using my backup account… It’s not getting better with lemmy.world sadly.
Same here, I also made an alternative account on lemm.ee
I can tell you, it will become your main soon
It also has had its downtimes.
I haven’t noticed any downtime yet so good enough for me
Good to know, I think I’m gonna be maining this one for now.
When have you been noticing downtime? Would like to know for sure!
It got better now.
Feel free to check out https://dash.lemmy.world as well for info :-)

At least with Lemmy servers you don’t lose everything. Just have two accounts on smaller servers in case it’s one of yours that goes down.
Now that I think about it, a feature to sync subs and blocks and whatnot would be nice.
