The sale of disposable vapes is set to be banned under proposals going to Cabinet.

The Minister for Health is expected to get Government approval to draft these laws which will ban the sale, manufacture or import of single-use or disposable vapes in Ireland.

Stephen Donnelly plans to introduce this ban on environmental and public health grounds.

Disposable vapes have to be a thousand times worse than k-cups.

I was floored when one of my coworkers was showing off his vape that played games and stuff and said he went through one a week.

Part of why I’m collecting up whatever ones I find to use for my small electronics projects… Even saw someone recently use about 50 or so to make a nice battery bank (was posted here to Lemmy)

I’ve been using them as the overnight batteries for solar powered projects (like wled controlled lights). I’ll be happy to get batteries elsewhere instead and reduce the massive waste.

Have fun with that but please be careful with them. Lithium battery fires are no joke. I would suggest a secure steel lock box to store away when not in use. Or keep it out of the house.

Lithium fires are fast, aggressive and impossible to properly extinguish. Once started they are self propagating and can only be doused until it’s essentially exhausted.

I’ve collected an assortment of them as well. I’ve got those batteries in several projects so far.
