This not being profitable is assuredly a good thing, but let’s not delude ourselves: Truth Social is meant to be a loss leader. If Trump gets elected with a 6–3 SCOTUS in his favor, the GOP and their cronies will corruptly enrich themselves well beyond what they lost on Truth Social.
But what is it actually accomplishing for him? Is it giving him reach he wouldn’t otherwise have?
Tax breaks at the very least
Energizing the core voting base is more useful than you might think, and it projects a very “we’re outsiders finding ways to make our voices heard” appearance to those delusional enough to believe his garbage. It also almost assuredly gives people a space to easily create and share bigoted, awful memes that later get disseminated onto other platforms like Facebook where tech-illiterate boomers eat them up.
