Two sources told NBC News that the Secret Service flagged a building near the rally site as a security concern. Investigators will be scrutinizing how a gunman was allowed to scale it.

The rooftop where a gunman shot at former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally was identified by the Secret Service as a potential vulnerability in the days before the event, two sources familiar with the agency’s operations told NBC News.

The building, owned by a glass research company, is adjacent to the Butler Farm Show, an outdoor venue in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Secret Service was aware of the risks associated with it, the sources said.

“Someone should have been on the roof or securing the building so no one could get on the roof,” said one of the sources, a former senior Secret Service agent who was familiar with the planning.

Lmfao trump ain’t no hero. Getting shot at doesn’t instantly make you a better person. He was a piece of shit before getting shot at and I’m sure he’ll act more of a piece of shit after.

He isn’t a hero in the literal sense, but he is the person who “people are trying to silence”, and who is “fighting the good fight”, so people will see him as the hero they need to save the US and this attack legitimised his victimising persona

Has Trump said anything since the shooting? (Other than the announcement he clearly didn’t write?)

Normally we can never get the guy to shut up, two full days of silence when he can milk the publicity of this is baffling.

The realization people want you dead can do that though… This isnt The idea that people want to hurt you. But actually knowing they want to kill you. If you could continue thinking this was a outlier them your very naive.

It seems like it would be a very tangible indication of disapproval, and narcissists have a hard time with that.
