I dunno, for me this is more about the candidate that wants to stop the world from burning vs the one that’s actively wants the world to burn for profit.

The one who follows the science versus the one who lets millions of people die because it might hurt his political image to acknowledge that he is incompetent.

Too bad biden wants to expand the oil industry and refuses to step down then. It’d very be cool if one of the two big candidates wasn’t straight evil rather than one who’s guilty of less evil, you should tell Biden to let an actually viable candidate run instead

? He killed the nord Keystone XL pipeline and revoked several permits for operating oil refineries and oil wells. He has done the most work towards curbing climate change of any president in US history. Are you trolling, misinformed, or a tankie?

Edit:looked at your post history, you are all three. Congrats, you should run for third party. I hear brain worms are in right now.

Just because I find your comments quite irksome, I took the liberty of compiling a list with the help of my friend ChatGPT and then reviewed them by hand:

Actions by Biden to curb environmental disasters:

            • Rejoining the Paris Agreement (Jan 20, 2021): On his first day in office, President Biden rejoined the international Paris Agreement, reinstating the U.S.'s commitment to global climate action. https://www.state.gov/the-united-states-officially-rejoins-the-paris-agreement/

            • American Jobs Plan (Proposed March 31, 2021): This plan included significant investments in clean energy, electric vehicle infrastructure, and climate resilience projects. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2021/03/31/fact-sheet-the-american-jobs-plan/

            • Leaders Summit on Climate (April 22-23, 2021): Biden hosted this summit to rally global leaders to enhance their climate ambitions. https://www.state.gov/leaders-summit-on-climate/

            • Methane Emission Reduction (Nov 2, 2021): EPA proposed rules to significantly cut methane emissions from the oil and gas industry. https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/biden-harris-administration-finalizes-standards-slash-methane-pollution-combat-climate

            • Executive Order on Climate-Related Financial Risk (May 20, 2021): Directed federal agencies to address the financial risks of climate change. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/05/20/executive-order-on-climate-related-financial-risk/

            • Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Nov 15, 2021): Included $65 billion for clean energy transmission and grid improvements. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrastructure_Investment_and_Jobs_Act

            • Strengthening American Leadership in Clean Cars and Trucks (Dec 20, 2021): EPA finalized the strongest vehicle emission standards for light-duty vehicles for Model Years 2023-2026. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/08/05/executive-order-on-strengthening-american-leadership-in-clean-cars-and-trucks/

            • National Heat Strategy (July 2023, honorable mention): Developed to help communities manage and improve resilience to extreme heat.

            • Inflation Reduction Act (Aug 16, 2022): Included $369 billion for energy security and climate change programs, promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inflation_Reduction_Act

            • Environmental Justice Executive Order (April 21, 2023): Aimed to improve the lives of communities disproportionately affected by pollution and climate change. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2023/04/21/executive-order-on-revitalizing-our-nations-commitment-to-environmental-justice-for-all/

            • Offshore Wind Projects (Ongoing since 2021): Approved large-scale projects to boost offshore wind energy, aiming for 30 gigawatts by 2030. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/09/21/fact-sheet-biden-harris-administration-advances-offshore-wind-transmission-strengthens-regional-supply-chain-buildout-and-drives-innovation/

            • Public Lands Conservation (Ongoing since 2021): The “America the Beautiful” initiative aims to conserve 30% of U.S. lands and waters by 2030. https://www.blm.gov/press-release/biden-harris-administration-finalizes-strategy-guide-balanced-management-conservation https://www.doi.gov/priorities/america-the-beautiful

            • Paused Natural Gas Exports (Ongoing): Paused the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/biden-hits-pause-approvals-liquified-natural-gas-exports-rcna135831 But was later reversed by a judge to allow them, potentially increasing global greenhouse gas emissions: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/01/climate/federal-judge-biden-gas-exports.html

Actions by Biden that may have worsened environmental disasters:

            • Continued Fossil Fuel Leasing (2021-2022): Despite climate pledges, the Biden administration approved new oil and gas drilling leases on public lands and waters, raising concerns about increased emissions and environmental degradation. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2023/09/29/biden-offshore-oil-drilling-climate/

            • Controversial Pipeline Projects (2021): Approved certain pipeline projects like Line 3 in Minnesota, which faced criticism for potential environmental damage and contribution to fossil fuel dependence. https://www.transportation.gov/briefing-room/investing-america-biden-harris-administration-announces-18-billion-infrastructure

So as we can see, Biden has taken a few progressive actions for the environment. I don’t recall Clinton, Bush, Obama, or much less Trump ever having such a streak but I admit I haven’t looked much into it. However, the facts here speak for themselves.

Edit: Moved the LNG one to the top section since Biden did pause the greenhouse gas exports but a judge reversed the decision later, so it wasn’t an action by Joe directly although his intention was in line with his previous work.

It wasn’t important enough for you to write, or even to find a list someone else made, of which I know at least one that goes around on lemmy sometimes. Why would i check a list so clearly unimportant to you?

What’s so wrong about making another one, editing and manually adding sources? What part of that makes it not important to spend closer to 30-40 min on it? And what if I didn’t know another list exists? What if I’d rather make my own so you don’t have the bullshit excuse to dismiss it. Because now you got two lists to contend with.

And is it me who doesn’t care or are you projecting? Because it sounds like a copout from you.

Like I said, you’re irksome and I don’t mind doing it for that sole reason alone.

asking a chatbot to do it for you

It’s the future, friend. I’m not about to spend 3 hours of my precious time on something like this just so you can dismiss it in three seconds and strut on the board like a mindless pigeon.

it’s not important enough for me to read

And that’s great! I added the sources manually, so you can at least read those. The summaries were for your convenience but I guess you don’t like such commodities.

I would genuinely love to hear

You would genuinely not read it, so why bother. You got like 15 decent things he’s done right here that you won’t even glance over because you seem a little intimidated by it.

unless his administration actually upholds those standards, which they won’t

On their own volition or does obstructionism count?

Biden’s got my vote by a hair rn

I frankly don’t give a rat’s ass what you got by a hair.

If you wanna show me some of that without the help of your friend, I’d legit love to see it

No, you don’t. You’d just love to give someone a fool’s errand and laugh about it later.

you know you’re lying. You know i know you’re lying

Is he lying, though? Or is that just some talking point? I frankly find it quite irritating when people accuse me of a lie that may be ignorance, exaggeration, or whatever. I don’t know how @Sucubus feels about this but we all deserve more accurate insults than these cheap shots.

Lmao, it is a fact that I made an error. You could’ve pointed it out, but you didn’t even realize I made an error. You are completely and wholly misinformed. You have no idea what you are talking about.

It’s funny that you literally can’t debate anything I said because there was nothing there to debate. I posted facts. Enjoy your fiction. Have fun voting for Xi Poohbear though, hope that works out for you.

The only informed thing you posted was that the IDF is shit. You must’ve made a mistake, I can’t imagine you’d intentionally post something factual.

to pretend Biden isn’t a huge piece of shit

I don’t think anybody here is pretending he isn’t less than ideal, tbqh. We’re comparing two stooges and one of them is clearly not a fascist or orange. If you’re gonna accuse others of lying, the least you can do is be accurate and honest with your own speech.

asked chat gpt to make a post claiming he’s not a piece of shit

I did? Or did I simply ask it to compile a list of policies from the web that were pro and against climate change efforts? Because it seems rather impartial about it overall. Or is there a specific aspect of it that bothers you besides Biden doing progressive things that you randomly label as liberal?

Or are you just unaware of how…

I’m unaware of whatever bullshit you’re on about. You have a huge list to debunk now but all I see is you deflecting and making shit up.

You either debunk it or you accept that you’re talking out your ass. You choose.
