How does she not see how entirely confusing her content is for her followers? “I’m not good. I’m struggling. I was on couch watch” to “I’m good I promise” talking about her health…

I don’t care if she doesn’t work out but man the lying is so damn obvious. If she worked out she wouldn’t constantly look “perfect” on stories. She’d get those flyaways from sweat, the makeup would run, the hair would be tied back, etc. No she doesn’t work out. She sits at home on her bed or couch and posts nontent. I’d love to see some healthy living content from these bopo nutcases.

It’s the lying for me as well. She says she doesn’t sweat 😅 Someone on Reddit during the RunDisney replied to me and said it’s all the Botox that’s preventing the sweat and any redness in the face! I don’t know much about Botox but I think that’s possible?

They literally use botox to block the sweat glands if you have hyperhidrosis, so I guess it’s true, lol.

Oh wow! I learned something new. I thought not sweating would be dangerous.

Well, it would block only a small percentage of the sweat glands and it’s used only when sweating a lot (like when it affects your quality of life).

The point of the bopo movement, though, isn’t about healthy living. It’s about accepting bodies exactly as they are. It’s about all bodies being worthy of respect.

Yeah I do understand that. I guess I don’t fully agree with the bopo movement as I don’t see the body as worthy of respect but the human in that body. I’m sure someone with a similar body to her would appreciate seeing that not all active bodies look like super athletes. Especially when someone like TBP is going to gloat about being runner to all her followers.

I just remembered that in the post referenced by this picture, she said something along the lines of how haters who troll her about not working out and being lazy don’t know how she lives her life, that they have “zero clue”. This cracks me up bc she posts every minute detail of her damn day!! oh we know lady. You’ve shown us!

Also she’s “running 3 races THIS MONTH”. Fetch the woman a cross to get up on, post haste!

Yeah don’t get me wrong I think SNL is a complete hypocrite most of the time. Her words undo some of her other words on a regular basis. See the thing is, if more people cared, like you, about the human inside the meat suit, the bopo movement wouldn’t need to exist.
I just wanted to clarify that point about bopo- they usually are not advocates for a particular lifestyle bc most of those lifestyles run parallel to the very insidious diet culture. Ya know?

That’s fair! And I appreciate the clarity. I don’t want to be the voice of misinformation 🫣. Being open to learning and being corrected when wrong is important to me. I love hearing so many other (much more educated) people’s perspectives and understandings on these topics. I learn so much on here. I used to be very pro body positivity but I see the actual harm it’s done to myself and my health so I have second thoughts now. It’s a dog eat dog world out there with the extreme sides of everything competing for our attention. It’s enough to make anyone crazy.

People are annoyed by the body positive movement not for its roots by for who took it over. People with privilege are again taking over a movement. I recommend going to read the article called “#BodyPositive? A critical exploration of the body positive movement within physical cultures taking an intersectionality approach” by Meridith Griffin, K. Alysse Bailey and Kimberly J. Lopez.

In the paper, they examine is how capitalized and white the movement because. Like how only white, cis, fitter or mid sized individuals are the ones using the movement to amplify themselves and that there’s a lack of representation by those that started the movement, and the removal of the platforms of LGBTQIA2S + , older people, actually plus sized people, and disabled people in favor of heavy set or fit white people. They also talk about how it was “commodified and packaged into a product or service for consumption.”

The true body positive movement is to be intersectional, and not meant to make white people (who don’t face as many barriers), money.
