Private ownership, that’s what’s causing it.

Ther like 6 people at the top trying to stuff as much cash into their own pockets as they can, and fuck the customers. That’s what’s causing it.

    Executive greed.

Poor decisions. That’s what’s behind it.

    • low pay vs work conditions, so no staff
    • seemingly high ticket price, I guess to pay CEOs and buy bad boats; not for staff.
    • boats that can’t handle a crosswind and must still turn at 1/2 the docks if they choose to run them
    • no spare equipment to swap in during maintenance or repairs

It’s like they’ve officially run out of clue at all levels of that organization, and can’t win for losing.

I think I’m both upset that my friend left working IT there because I don’t have the inside scoop in that sector, but I’m glad he’s away from an outfit that’s gonna get worse before it gets better.

I know the period of time when BCFerries didn’t suck and when it was part of MoT was coincidental in its overlap, but I want to believe it was better back then: the current brass is looking a bit redundant today, and I bet we could save money with a merge with no reduction from ‘worst performance ever’.
