I’ve only ever heard it called jive
It’s a very common mistake, one I used to make myself. But I can assure you it’s jibe.
If everyone I’ve ever heard use the word thinks it’s jive, at what point does that become correct? Isn’t that how language works?
It becomes the accepted meaning after a formal dictionary adds it. To my knowledge, no dictionary added this meaning yet.
