how does that make sense?
that’s not viewing history search though?
it makes fun of the expectation that people get married so yes
AFAIK bread was quite a bit more expensive in the past, since baking involved getting up hours in advance to start a fire inside the massive earthen oven, not to mention that all the other parts of making flour were also way more difficult than they are now…
I think it might be comparable to meat these days? Something that everyone eats, but at the same time most people on some level realize that it’s actually pretty fucking expensive and they should eat less of it, but it’s just so normalized and tastes good so they just keep eating it every day.
(And for reference meat in the past would have been much more of a luxury, not in that people were vegetarians or anything but they’d just have less meat in every meal and they wouldn’t turn their nose at organs and “low quality” stuff like we do.)
are there really no streamers that just stream hikes and shit?
hey chat look at this cool fucking flower
even that shouldn’t result in such utter nonsense, especially not nowadays where google translate is generally decent
i think what makes it so unnerving to me is that i don’t see it just being caused by a lack of education, because if you can write then surely you can also read, and thus surely you can read normal text which exists everywhere and can’t be missed
the kind of bad writing that lack of education causes is more just bad grammar and boneappleteas (writing unknown phrases as the closest matching words you do know, so “bon appetit” turns into “bone apple tea”), with maybe some sloppy punctuation usage but not outright
see this doesn’t actually make me as uncomfortable because it’s just… obnoxious
it’s not incomprehensible, i get why people would write like that
can’t tell if you’re serious or taking the piss, but for reference meat has to be fed with things that are themselves organic to be classed as organic.
it’s always good to see people freak out about therapists doing their job…
the lion does not concern itself with the meme
looks like another cockchafer victim, always a sad sight
as if anyone living with a cat isn’t infected anyways
the irony is that LLMs are basically just calculators, horrendously complex calculators that operate purely on statistics…
the only thing i’ve seen it do that is actually helpful is duckduckgo’s summary thing, because it has to actually pull the text from a whitelist of sources and thus is very unlikely to just make things up
but even then i’d only use it for pretty simple things like “what’s the total population of these cities”, so that i can then click the sources it lists and check that everything seems sensible, trusting the answer without at least a quick sanity check is insane
it’s for when the brown note hits
genuinely at what point do teachers just give up? it’s not like they’re able/allowed to teach kids important things in the US anymore anyways
fuck it, go out with a bang, teach the kids the horrors of capitalism and outright tell them to be socialists, then move to another state
hey we granted ourselves this wish! now they’re not “wars” anymore, just armed conflicts!
i love how inflation is just always magically a reason for companies to charge arbitrarily large sums for their products, how the hell do you people think people are supposed to afford things?
seriously, if everything just constantly increases in cost, how precisely do you envision the economy functioning?
