I feel like I miss the mark a lot with my orbitals and eagle strikes. Either the enemy moves or I just make a bad throw with the grenade. That orbital laser though? That thing doesn’t care how bad I am.
I try to time it with my stun grenades so that they can’t move while they wait for the eagle.
This is my strat too. Or I just drop it at my feet and run while they run right into it.
For practice, be sure to volunteer for bug hole duty and bull’s-eye grenades & supply drops on 'em at speed to get a tighter feel for the aiming of all things thrown in-game. After a few dozen suicide runs down Elm Street, you’ll have a far better idea of where your reticle needs to be for each toss, depending on distance and momentum.
To wit, with 60+ hrs in, I find myself strafing past 1-story buildings/outcroppings that I can pop a sentry on with a flick of the cam and barely break stride. It took many many chargers making paste outta me to get there, but here I am. 🤪
Also if you’re playing on a difficulty where multiple enemies that really should be railcannoned spawn in short order a laser can often take out multiple of them which can help a lot

And the laser has a chance for those hilarious team kills.
Heh. OP implies that “game” = “single mission”… Rookie numbers.
