I think Russia has a tendency to pull triggers on bigger guns than Israel does. If Israel starts WW3, it will be by provoking someone into invading them. If Russia starts WW3, it will be BY invading someone.

They are currently actively trying to drag America into a war with Iran. Israel is literally trying to start WW3 with everything in their might right now. Russian imperialism actually requires them to think whether they can steal certain land instead of getting bombed to rubble. Sure they have a big army but they absolutely cannot handle a war with NATO. Invading Ukraine would be nothing like invading NATO. Which is why we did the Cold War thing before.
