Well its Elon Musk bullshit, not really useful content. The guy is neither scientist nor inventor, so nothing he says here even has grounds to be correct, never mind believable.

Wait, but I thought he sent a Dragon capsule to mars by 2018? Or two Starships by 2022. Or passenger rockets between London and New York

Didn’t those things happen? But surely my Tesla will drive itself across the country at the push of a button right? And if not, I can use a special tunnel, or a vaccuum train to get around, right?

Well, at least the solar roofs are helping safe the world with their amazing production. And soon well have have human robots!

Or were those things also not true?

Uh… the starship did go to space a couple weeks ago, you don’t have to believe that, but it did happen.

Elon aside (cause the guy is clearly not all there at the moment), space-x is still doing amazing things. As far as I’m concerned this is the most positive thing happening on the planet at the moment. I expect reusable rockets are going to bring more benefit to human society over the next few centuries than fusion power, quantum computing, AI, or any other “future technology”.

Edit: I take it back, if we can ever achieve efficient and economical production of long carbon nanotubes / graphene, that would probably be a bigger deal. Also metallic hydrogen, or room temp superconductors, that would also be pretty huge. But reusable rockets are still vitally important.

They guy that owns to most impressive groundbreaking rocket company talks about rockets and space has no place in a community about space.

        Okay cool.

There’s a huge difference being the money being a very inventive space company and presenting yourself like you actually have any clue at all about space - which Melon Husk clearly has not, and if he had more of a hand in SpaceX they’d be probably bir nearly as far as they are now.

He’s got a degree in physics and whenever you see him answer off the cuff questions about spacex he obviously has knowledge.

I think you’re largely talking out of arse because you don’t like Musk.

A BA in physics does not a rocket scientist make.

Wharton is great for a business degree - but otherwise its focus is in “‘Executive Education’ - which involved custom learning experiences that lead to academic enrichment, however with no standing.“ (emphasis mine)

If you look at a list of its allumni, you’ll quickly see it’s a rich persons club. Mostly CEOs, not discoverers or scientists.

Go find me videos of him have no knowledge of spacex then.

Whenever he seems to talk about spacex he knows more about the nuts and bolts of the company than most CEOs

Works both ways - go find me videos of him making operational (not managerial) decisions inside SpaceX. As founder he can point the way, but he’s not doing any science himself.

When you show us him plotting trajectories or doing mass calcuations, then we’re finally talking about the same thing. Right now, he writes checks and points; a rich Schnauzer could do the same.

Let’s be clear what we are discussing here

presenting yourself like you actually have any clue at all about space - which Melon Husk clearly has not

That’s what we are talking. He’s obviously not the one the being calculations that would be stupid. No one is claiming he does that.

I can’t believe you actually saying you think he should be doing calculations a computer does. I guess you don’t understand business at all.

Go watch some of his chats with the everday astronaut. He clearly knows a lot about the company.

Letting space guy talk about space seems very reasonable at first glance, but the problem is that he’s a tremendous idiot.

I own a car. Doesn’t mean I know fuck all about making one, or doing anything of value toward humanity with it.

Elon owning toys you like doesn’t make him anything but a guy who owns shit for a living.
