The other question that I’ve always wondered about with both light speed and warp faster than light speed is how it would affect the time difference to the travelers.
If you traveled 20 light years in an instant and came back right away … do you arrive in the same time or have you time traveled into the future or the past?
Even if there is no major time difference there’s probably some minor time difference that would cause you to constantly recalculate every moment and every position you visit and return from. Because if you mess up, you start losing your bearings and reference points the more often you travel.
