Ok I missed WIP Wednesday but honestly my week is just an absolute mess of days running into each other so that’s no surprise.

Here’s my main WIP for this week, as you can see I’m somewhat leaning into the recent pixel-art-style design urge. I’m also leaning into my preference for doing half stitches first and then completing them later, even though it’s kind of ugly in the progress photos.

It’ll just make the final piece seem prettier by comparison! At least, that’s one theory.

(It’s going to be a smol garden scene)

It looks impressive so far! Every time I try to do all half stitch first and then go back to fill it in it turns into a big sloppy mess, so I still try to go one row at a time lol

If you’d asked me a few hours ago I would’ve assumed half stitches first was easier for most people but maybe I’m in the minority, judging by reactions so far!

It always ends up feeling kind of cramped to me and the stitches never want to lie right… I’m probably doing something wrong lol

This looks great. Pretty sure I’d completely lose my place. I do blocks of half stitches but always go back across when I hit a spot that makes sense to me.

Definitely works best when you’ve got big blocks of quite different colours, I wouldn’t want to try it on anything with confetti! But mostly I like it because I can concentrate for half the time, then just “colour in” mindlessly for the second half 😄
