I refuse to believe this is real simply because I don’t want to live in a world where someone actually did this.
This goes around every now and then. Pretty sure it’s fake.
It’s a joke. Apparently the humor is lost on many.
In this age of misinformation, reasonably, people have a hard time finding the humor in false portrayals anymore. You’ve got so much fake and unauthentic material now that people have gotten a bit jaded I think.
That and Poe’s Law. Some people are fucking stupid and I wouldn’t put a near suicidal act past them.
You can buy something like that in Japan. So some people in the world do this regularly. But the chickens they use for it are raised in a clean environment, so they unlikely have salmonella.
Chicken sashimi is a thing. People actually do eat it.
Like as a dare? Slimy raw chicken can’t possibly taste good, I don’t care how you dress it up
Many people around the world eat sushi, and if you’re already okay with the texture of sushi, the texture of raw chicken might not scare you off.
Of course there are mixed opinions about sushi, too.

I suggest you try other kinds of sushi. You will find some that are similar, when thinly sliced.
I’ve tried plenty of types of sushi and sashimi. If I’d ever gotten one that tasted like raw chicken I would have spit it out and demanded my money back lol
For the record I have accidentally eaten raw (undercooked) chicken before, and I cannot imagine why anyone would ever eat it on purpose
Yeah I’ve eaten undercooked chicken before and it tastes awful. Still ate it, but awful.
I remember an Iron Chef episode where they roasted a chicken rare. Couldn’t believe my eyes. Judges loved it.

That being said, if you raise your own chickens, you could cook medium rare. I’ve had chicken that was done to medium and medium rare, and it isn’t as weird as you’d think.
That being said, it isn’t my preferred thing, and my chickens are pets lol.

This is fake, of course.
She didn’t make it, it’s a specialty raw chicken sashimi called torisashi, and these chickens are raised specifically to be eaten raw.
I heard somewhere that 90% of the salmonella is on the outside so if you just cook the outside you’re fine. If that’s true these strips are fine.

People eat raw fish, raw beef and even raw pork, so raw chicken shouldn’t really be a surprise

They raise those chickens very carefully, to avoid salmonella contamination.
Counterpoint: The one time I went to a chicken sashimi restaurant in Tokyo, sure enough I got food poisoning.
Sadly this could have actually happened that is the scary part some real person would actually do this.
I mean what were they thinking calling it SALMONella though. Very confusing.
