Stop importing toxic American politics.
America is not a country anyone should currently strive to mimic or be like. America today is not the same as America during her golden age.
America is a sewer. Let them rot in the making of their own demise.
Problem is it’s our demise also. We count on them for everything. When they go down so do we.
Damn, I didn’t realize Notley is going. I liked her.
Take Back Alberta, it turns out, doesn’t have the power to take back anything. Even the UCP is flicking them away, which says a lot. They have control of their board, but still basically that means nothing. They control some administrative stuff that, jokes on them, nobody else wants to be burdened with.
Let them live their fantasy, and let’s stop giving these wastes of oxygen the press time. Just sick of hearing about them, honestly, their leader looks like what I imagine a child molester looks like, and they have gross policies that don’t reflect modernity or reality.
I’d love to dismiss them so easily.
But Parker is a personal friend of psychotic premier Danielle Smith. He organized the campaign against Kenney, supports the idea of a provincial pension plan, and many other UCP plans - I have to wonder who came up with them in the first place.
TBA was heavily involved with the ‘protest for bigotry’ on Sept. 20, and they honestly outnumbered the counterprotestors by a large amount in both Calgary and Edmonton.
Meanwhile, Parker is being investigated by Elections Alberta, and refuses to cooperate. He’s stated that TBA Society - a 3rd party political advertiser - will be disbanded and replaced with TBA - a non-political organization which has no ties to the former, and can’t be liable for the former’s misdeeds. Unfortunately, he might be right.
I won’t declare them to be unimportant until I see politics in Alberta move on without Parker and his fellow scum.
There are all kinds of residency and membership seniority rules in a wide variety of organizations, from villages to nonprofits.
Make a rule that says you have to be a member in good standing for at least 13 months in order to vote, 25 months to stand for any position below leader, and 37 months to stand for leader.
That’s far from ideal, but having a system vulnerable to hijacking is worse. At least this would require long term planning and extended infiltration. The infiltrators would be exposed to and forced to follow the party line for long enough that maybe they’d even change.
