Fun new game just dropped! Go to the internet platform of your choice, type “goes against OpenAI use policy,” and see what happens. The bossman dropped a link to a Rick Williams Threads post in the chat that had me go check Amazon out for myself.

At least this policy is making it easy to spot bot accounts and autogenerated product listings.

These sellers should be shadowbanned and penalized, there is absolutely no justification to have an LLM auto-generate product listings unless the intent is to create spam

I don’t think there are that many bots here because of [reason 1], [reason 2], and [reason 3].

And I for one am certainly not a “goes against OpenAI use policy".

There is a place for using LLMs to fluff up text or help with translation, but you shouldn’t by copy/pasting blindly, or just scripting it out 100%.

The true failure here is Amazon, who takes no responsibility for what they sell. They let anyone anyone create a product listing with no oversight.

I just checked amazon and searching “OpenAI policy” or anything the like yields no results. I guess they got taken down?

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The bossman dropped a link to a Rick Williams Threads post in the chat that had me go check Amazon out for myself.

]-Blue(236.2 x 118.1).” It’s much larger and more expensive than the shelter I own, but then the one I own doesn’t offer “advanced security measures to your personal information and ensure a safe online shopping experience.” Let’s look at the product description together:

Listen, man, I’m not an expert at furniture or anything, but there’s something funky about the “I’m sorry but I cannot fulfill this request it goes against OpenAI use policy.

Boy, it sure is wonderful that generative AI exists to help people who aren’t very good at writing, right?

Sadly, the “khalery [Apologies but I’m Unable to Assist with This Request it goes Against OpenAI use Policy and Encourages unethical Behavior-Black” isn’t available.

Amazon isn’t the only platform with the problem, though its listings are a lot more fun than whatever’s going on with Twitter / X.
