Some communities continue to be stuck in “Subscribe Pending” status even after the latest Lemmy update. [email protected] for example.
I thought it might be due to remote server load, but it has persisted for days (weeks in some cases), even when I cancel and retry, no matter what time of day, even when a visit to the remote instance shows that it’s very responsive.
Could there be a problem in lemma.ca’s configuration for federating with certain instances?
I’ll reach out to their admins, it seems to be an issue isolated to beehaw.org communities.
Thank you.
Curiously, the example I gave is finally unstuck now, after days in pending state. I don’t know if that’s because I retried a few times shortly before posting here, or because someone fixed something, or just dumb luck. So I tried joining another beehaw community, and it has been stuck pending for a few minutes so far.
Meanwhile, the lemmy.ml communities that have been pending for weeks were still pending when I checked just now, but cancelling, retrying, and then reloading the page finally gets subscriptions there to complete. (Retrying didn’t help when I tried it before.) So that’s progress. :)
There’s been changes made on beehaw.org that should have resolved this issue going forward.
