Sync (for the platform which shall not be named) had the ability to filter posts by keyword. I will take advantage of that feature when Sync for Lemmy is available.
The ‘Active’ display falsely gives that impression by keeping those posts on the front page for days. Then the more exposure they get, the more activity they get, and the longer they stay there. That algorithm and the default view definitely need to be reworked imo as they give a false impression that the only thing happening on the site is a post about beans and 5 posts about reddit. When I sort by All > New there’s way more content.
Only if this place moves on from complaining about reddit and posts content. No one finds the “my ex was crazy” phase endearing.
Fair complaint, but fwiw Reddit went through the same thing with Digg. It passed.
