Seems like shows are taking longer and longer to produce. Used to be a yearly thing but these days it’s closer to two years.

I’m sure the long writers strike and actors strike was no help. Without those, late 2024 may have been possible. We’re only getting House of the Dragon on schedule because it’s produced in Europe where actors were not on strike.

But there is a 4 year gap in the game, so some aging of the characters should fit right in.

I don’t watch shows as they air anymore, and just wait until they are all out years later.

I have started sticking to standalone seasons like Fargo, and gotten into some kdramas because of the annoyance of drawn out seasons.

Ah watching Fargo myself for the first time!

Agreed. Studios proved that they can’t be trusted with franchises I love. They will kill a series the second it’s not insanely profitable. So I’ll wait now until it’s finished, or obvious it’s going to finish

Can’t complain. There are plenty of great shows to catch up on in the meantime and the revolving door writing/production strategy of the 2010s put out a lot of shit.

I have branched out into non US game type tv. Been really enjoying Taskmaster and QI from the BBC. Best part is the shows are not tip toeing around trying to be PC or overly fake inclusive. Like it feels more real.
